Columbia's Field Reports: A New Publishing Opportunity

Amy Burchfield, Access & Faculty Services Librarian amy.burchfield@law.csuohio.edu | May 21, 2009 - 08:46

The Columbia Journal of Environmental Law, a traditional print publication, has announced that it will soon launch a new companion publication, Columbia Journal of Environmental Law Field Reports. Filling the space somewhere between a blog and traditional academic writing, Field Reports are aimed at a wide audience of policymakers, legal practitioners, students and academics. Field Reports will publish a variety of shorter pieces, including:
  • Commentary, companion pieces, and follow-up on articles printed in the Journal
  • Updates on current case law, legislation, regulations, and international agreements
  • Book reviews.

The submission guidelines for Field Reports indicate that proposed pieces be no longer that 3,000 words and should eschew excessive footnoting.
