As you know, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, was passed by both the House and Senate last week. USA.gov has gathered some documents pertaining to the legislation, including comments by the President, House Financial and Senate Banking committees and the Treasury Department.

Wednesday, the 14th of October of 2008 saw the third and final U.S. Presidential Debate between the two candidates in Hempstead, New York. Sen. Barack Obama went into the debate with an eight point lead in the polls, and he was content to sit on that lead. Sen. McCain went after him as he rested on his laurels, and took it directly to him about his policies, judgment, and character. McCain was keen to point out that he is “not President Bush” whilst Sen. Obama was far more critical of the last eight years of economic policy. Both candidates outlined their approach to trimming the budget, with McCain’s approach of using a hatchet to some areas and a scalpel to others, whilst Obama pledged to “go through the budget page by page, line by line” in order to find what isn’t working and deal with it appropriately. Both candidates say that they will bring the necessary change to America, but where does it leave certain industries, such as the payday loans industry? Americans deserve the freedom to choose beyond what the major interest groups (like banks and credit unions) want them to be able to choose. After the long day months of the campaign about the presidential election of the long run candidacy of the Obama Presidential election let see and watch what will happened next.
The election is over and America has appointed a new leader. The people have chosen “change” by electing Barack Obama for the next President of the United States. Whether the United States changes for the better or for the worse, there is no doubt that change is in store for our country. It’s clear that Americans believe Obama will bring a positive change to our country. We’ve heard many of the promises he has made to the U.S. from lowering taxes for the middle class to putting a timeline on the war in Iraq and trimming the federal budget “line by line.” However, Obama also supports the elimination of the payday loan industry. He believes that eradicating the payday loan industry will protect low-income and families in general from falling victims to predatory lenders. On higher ground, it will be a violation to our financial freedom if the option to utilize affordable payday loans is wiped out. Threatening our rights to financial freedom is not a great start to creating positive change.

At last, the controversial Election Day is over, and we now know who our next President of United States will be. Hopefully, America has made wise decisions. I hope the American people really thought about the issues in play before casting their vote last November 4. It’s sad that the reality of how much people think about their political choices is less than studied. Some of us put more thought into whether to take out a payday advance than what the issues are. Listen to this brief audio snippet for instance. It‘s a recent episode of “The Howard Stern Show,” posted courtesy of BPM Deejays of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Roving Reporter Sal roamed the streets of Harlem, New York to get the opinions of men and women, to see whether they supported Barack Obama or John McCain for President. In actual fact, this was to determine whether African-Americans would automatically vote for Barack Obama simply because he’s black. Sal reverses the candidates’ positions on issues like the pro-life argument, stem cell research, the war in Iraq and who Sarah Palin is. Shockingly, many of the responses were brainless. Sal gets people to admit that they support Obama despite what policies he represented. This discussion has exposed something truly depressing. The truth is that many people are uninformed as to the issues. Many people try to play a part of popular opinions.

While the president has cited signs the recession is abating, the administration is bracing for the Aug. 7 release of the July unemployment rate. The rate was at a 25-year high of 9.5 percent in June and Obama has said he expects it will exceed 10 percent before growth is strong enough for companies to begin adding jobs.
The economy has lost 6.5 million jobs since the recession began in December 2007, marking the biggest drop in employment since the Great Depression.

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has uncovered documents from the Treasury Department related to the government's bailout of insurance giant American International Group (AIG).
The documents, obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, include internal Treasury Department emails and a series of outlines, presentation slides and articles outlining the details of the government's "investment"
in AIG, which at the time totaled as much $152 billion.

With the market in shambles recently, it is becoming tougher and tougher to get a loan. The standards for getting a loan are getting harsh, and limits on credit cards are going down. The worst part is that this might only be the beginning of an already bad situation. Some fear that consumer and businesses will stop borrowing money all together. Most people with good credit can still get a loan if they have a steady job and are not currently in debt. But not all people meet these qualifications and can be accepted for a standard loan. But thankfully for them, payday loans are still readily available to consumers to provide extra cash when they are in need. If something unexpectedly goes wrong and you need money to fix it, but are currently facing financial difficulty, you can still apply for a payday loan with a very high chance of being accepted, much higher than a standard bank loan. All you need to be accepted for a payday loan is a steady income, so that you will be able to pay your loan back. You usually don’t even have your credit checked. The best part is that in most situations you will likely pay only about 15% interest on your loan.
